What to Bring to a Mobile Notary Appointment

A mobile notary appointment is efficient by design, we come to you, whether that is your home, office, hospital, or any location in Southwest Florida. A few minutes of preparation beforehand makes the session faster and eliminates the most common causes of delay or rescheduling.

Valid Government-Issued Photo ID

This is non-negotiable. Florida notaries are required by law to verify the identity of every signer before notarizing. Acceptable forms of ID include:

  • Florida driver's license or state ID
  • U.S. passport or passport card
  • U.S. military ID
  • Permanent Resident Card (Green Card)
  • Tribal ID card issued by a federally recognized tribe

The ID must be unexpired. An expired driver's license is not an acceptable substitute, even if you have a renewal receipt.

If you are acting as an attorney-in-fact (signing under a Power of Attorney on behalf of someone else), bring both your own ID and a copy of the executed POA document.

Documents to Be Notarized

Have your documents ready and review them before the appointment. The notary facilitates the signing: they do not provide legal advice or review document content for accuracy. If there are blanks that need to be filled in, complete them before the notary arrives. A document with blank spaces cannot be notarized.

Witnesses (If Required)

Some documents: wills, powers of attorney, deeds: require one or two witnesses in addition to the notary. The notary does not count as a witness. Plan to have the required witnesses physically present at the appointment. If you cannot arrange witnesses, let us know in advance, we can discuss options.

A Quiet, Well-Lit Location

For ID verification and document review, adequate lighting and a flat writing surface are practical necessities. A kitchen table works perfectly. If you are in a hospital or care facility, we will adapt, but alerting facility staff that a notary is coming reduces any logistical friction at the front desk.

Payment

Florida law caps the notary fee per signature at $10. Our overall service fee covers travel and coordination in addition to the notarial act. We accept payment at the time of service. Confirm any questions about pricing when you book your appointment.
